Brazilian Top Team

A Legacy in
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Top Team (BTT) is one of the most prestigious Jiu-Jitsu academies in Brazil, known for its strong presence in mixed martial arts competitions worldwide in the early 2000’s at Pride and the UFC. The foundation of the Brazilian Top Team can be credited to the legendary Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA fighter and coach, Mester Murilo Bustamante, the first Brazilian UFC Middleweight Champion, Pride veteran, IBJJF World Champion and ADCC veteran.

Master Murilo Bustamante, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under the famous Carlson Gracie, felt the need for a team that would bring together the best fighters in Brazil to showcase their skills on a global stage. In 2000, Bustamante founded Brazilian Top Team with the goal of creating a world-class training facility where martial artists could sharpen their skills and push the boundaries of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA.

Under Bustamante’s leadership, Brazilian Top Team quickly gained recognition as a powerhouse in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts. The team attracted top-notch fighters, such as Ricardo Arona, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and Vítor Belford, who all contributed to BTT’s success with their impressive performances in various combat sports competitions.
